Jews & Palestinians Standing Together in Mourning for every life lost on October 7th and since.
October 7, 2024
On October 7th, 2024 Friends of Standing Together Toronto will gather together for a silent vigil mourning every life lost on October 7th and since at 5:30 pm at the south east corner of Bloor and Avenue Road, Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
Friends of Standing Together Toronto is part of the global support network of Standing Together Movement, a progressive grassroots movement mobilizing Jewish and Palestinian citizens of Israel against the occupation and for peace, equality, and social justice.
Standing Together has emerged as a leading voice demanding a ceasefire agreement, hostage deal, end to the military occupation, and Israeli-Palestinian peace. Its message has inspired millions around the world.
Members of Friends of Standing Together Toronto including Canadian Israelis, Palestinians, Jews, Arabs, Muslims, and allies are organized and united together in mutual solidarity against hatred, violence, and endless wars.
On October 7th, we will gather to mourn every life that has been lost this year and to Stand Together in our resolute belief that There is Another Way.
Our October 7th silent vigil builds upon our October 1, 2024 Statement: “Reflecting on one year of heartbreak, one year of hope”.
In March 2023, members of the Standing Together national leadership team Rula Daood and Itamar Avneri visited Toronto holding an event with 450 attendees at the Toronto Reference Library. Rula and Itamar were interviewed on CBS’s The Current and placed an Op-Ed in the Toronto Star. Their visit to Canada drew media coverage from Canadian Jewish News.
